The excitement continues with Obama and this road to the White House. The crowds continue to gather to watch the train pass ..the train that represents so much for so many. Watching the new President work the crowd (when he doesn't have to) was truly a plus for me. It wasn't until 6:30 ish, (when I heard a lard number of choppers over head) that I realized I was on the train route. I live 2 blocks from the Amtrak,MARC tracks and Obama was passing by. Thanks to CNN I was able to revel in the crowds awaiting to welcome The Obama/Bidens to Union Station. Fair to say it's a bit overwelming in a good way. From the Sunday Post:
What began for Obama two years ago as a long-shot presidential bid launched in Abraham Lincoln's shadow in Springfield, Ill., ended with another tribute to the 16th president, Obama's political idol. His 10-car train retraced the route Lincoln took to the capital before he assumed the presidency in 1861. Obama stopped to deliver speeches in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Del., and Baltimore, often referring to the spirit of Lincoln and the Founding Fathers.
